Home Decorators Collection . . .
One of the best ways to have a lively feel in your household is by having things that are alive in it. Aquariums are a great way to add color, light, vibrancy, life and visual appeal to any room.
You can select a tank style and size to fit your room and depending on how much work your willing to put in, you can get plants and fish that require no care other than feeding . . . all the way through to fish that require knowledge and focus.
If that sounds like too much work, there are many businesses that rent out complete lively tanks to suit your home. Here are some examples of tanks in my house and how they are set up.
In our lounge we have a 90 gallon tank. This tank is well lighted. It has several species of plants and several species of fish including tetras, angels, corydoras, cats, loaches, guppies and mollies. This tank, besides adding a good amount of light, is a solid focal piece and sparks a lot of conversation.
In our craft room we have a simple 20 gallon tank with a basic gravel substrate and a bit of oxygen weed. In this tank we have an array of goldfish which are curious fish. They can be very motivational when blanking out on craft ideas.
In our kitchen we have a "plant heavy" tank which we put our fish in that are ready to breed. This mainly achieves a certain cuteness factor which is always fun in the kitchen.
Whilst you don't need to go as heavy or as intensive on your tank setup, aquariums add life and color to any room and will always be able to spark conversation.
